I have always worked in healthcare and about 4 years ago I came into Hospice as a volunteer. Not knowing what to expect as you always hear Hospice is for dying folks.
I am here to tell you, that it not the case at all. My goal is to try and help change people’s mindset looking at the word hospice. I became a volunteer coordinator and I want to reach out and tell people about hospice and sign them up to become companions to hospice patients.
I enjoy talking with these folks, listening to the history they have to offer. It is the highlight of my day. I will forever cherish every patient I have come to know.
