I was one of 6 children, 3rd in line. I was that child that took care of my younger siblings. I was that natural born “Mommy/Caretaker. I loved visiting friends that had their grandparents living with them. I loved their stories and childlike behaviors (not realizing they had Dementia). I knew I had to do something in Geriatrics. I feel God prepared me for Home Health based employment. It’s been a wonderful 30+ years. I love the One on One, flexibility and opportunities of bringing comfort to my patients. Many times, a home health nurse is the only visitor a patient may have in one week. I’ve experienced Homehealth/hospice when my own mother needed comfort and care until she passed 25 years ago. My 87 yr old Mother in law visited from California for 3 months recently and may be coming back to stay. I know that I will be able to provide Homehealth/Hospice support for her when that times comes. Interim Homecare will be that comfort I know she deserves. I’m blessed to be a part of a Homehealth based employment. 🙏 I’m been a Preceptor with Interim now for almost a year and love helping others begin their journey and share my experiences over and over.
